COULD PREFABRICTION DENSIFY CITIES BY REPLACING PITCHED ROOFTOPS?
Many buildings in Poland have very inclined roof surfaces. This was due not only to climatic conditions but because during the times of communism people were forced to receive additonal tennants if their house crossed a certain sqm. In result you may find houses in Warsaw with ptiched roofs like in the snowy mountain areas. Other inclined roofs became obsolete because of climate change and the lack of heavy snow load during winters. In both cases they deliver a huge potential to locate prefabricated structures as the walls of these buildings were not isolated but thick as 45cm and now can withstand additional new light-weight prefabricated loads on their tops.
